Swim Suite vs SportsEngine Motion: The Short Answer
SportsEngine Motion, the product formerly called TeamUnify, runs the administration of a swim club: registration, billing, communication and the team website. Swim Suite runs the coaching: the season plan, training groups, planned against completed load, the swimmer's own app and video analysis. A club that mainly needs its membership and money organised needs Motion or something like it. A club whose coaches still plan the season in spreadsheets needs the part Swim Suite does.
Details below come from the vendors' own pages, checked in November 2026. Confirm current terms with each vendor before you decide.
What Happened to TeamUnify?
TeamUnify is now SportsEngine Motion. The rebrand was completed in November 2024, and GoMotion, the class-based product for swim schools, was folded into the same name. Teamunify.com now redirects to a page announcing the change. Two more things changed in 2026: in May, USA Swimming named SportsEngine its official team management partner through 2030, and PlayMetrics announced it had acquired SportsEngine.
For a club already on TeamUnify, the practical point is that the product continues under the new name. The SwimOffice plans are still sold, and the newer SportsEngine Motion app is the mobile app clubs are pointed to.
What SportsEngine Motion Is Built For
Motion is club management software for swim clubs, swim schools and aquatics centres, mainly in the United States, with a UK version that Swim England lists as its preferred supplier for swim schools. Its job is the business of running the organisation.
It covers a team website, online registration, automated billing by card and ACH with payment plans, unlimited texts, emails and push notifications, attendance with tablet kiosk check-in and makeup credits, and event and meet declarations with fees and waivers. US clubs get a USA Swimming registration integration and access to official times. The SwimOffice Pro plan adds a coaching toolkit, video sharing and a social feed.
What Swim Suite Is Built For
Swim Suite is coaching software for competitive swimming clubs: three connected apps in one club account, built around the training week rather than the membership list.
Swim Suite holds the season plan from macro cycles down to the single set, with AI-assisted set writing, training groups with their own base send-offs, attendance and weekly load compared against the plan, and competitions with target and qualifying times.

Swim Forge gives each swimmer the day's session, the coach's targets, dryland work and a place to log how training felt. Swim Analyzer measures starts, breakouts, stroke rate and stroke length from phone video on the pool deck.

Feature Comparison
The table compares the two area by area. "Not described" means the vendor's pages do not describe the feature, not that it is impossible.

Pricing Compared
The two price on different models, so compare them at your own club's size. SportsEngine's US swim pricing lists SwimOffice at $95 a month and SwimOffice Pro at $125 a month, billed annually, with a $295 setup fee; its general Motion pricing page also describes per-transaction fees on payments. UK pricing is not published, and both ask you to book a demo rather than start a trial.
Swim Suite charges a monthly plan by coaches and swimmers: €40 a month for one coach and ten swimmers, €80 for up to three coaches and 30 swimmers, and €140 for up to 20 coaches and 200 swimmers, with a 14-day free trial and no card required. Details are on the pricing page.
Can You Use Both?
Yes, and for many competitive clubs that is the natural split. Motion keeps the registrar, the treasurer and parents organised; Swim Suite gives the head coach, group coaches and swimmers the training week. The two hold different information, so nothing has to be entered twice.
| Your situation | Best fit |
|---|---|
| US club that mainly needs registration, billing and USA Swimming admin | SportsEngine Motion |
| Swim school selling classes and makeups | SportsEngine Motion |
| Competitive club whose coaches plan in spreadsheets | Swim Suite |
| Club that wants measured video of starts, turns and strokes | Swim Suite |
| Competitive club that also wants billing and registration online | Both, side by side |
If you are still working out which category of system your club needs, the five types of swim software explains each one, and the swim club management software guide lists the questions to ask in a demo.
Is Swim Suite a TeamUnify alternative?
For the coaching side, yes. Swim Suite replaces training spreadsheets, attendance lists and separate video apps, but not TeamUnify's registration, billing, team website or federation administration.
Does SportsEngine Motion do season planning?
Its pages describe a coaching toolkit for writing workouts on the SwimOffice Pro plan, but not periodised season planning from macro cycles to sets. Clubs that want the season plan, training load and a swimmer app connected to it typically add a coaching system for that part.
