Swim Suite vs HY-TEK: The Short Answer

HY-TEK records what happens at swim meets, and Swim Suite plans and tracks what happens in training between them. HY-TEK Meet Manager runs the meet and HY-TEK Team Manager keeps the club's roster, times and entries; Swim Suite holds the season plan, the training week, the swimmer's app and video analysis.

Most competitive clubs in the United States already use HY-TEK, and nothing in Swim Suite asks them to stop. The useful question is not which one to pick but whether the club's training is as well organised as its meet results. Details below were checked in October 2026; confirm current terms with ACTIVE Network.

What HY-TEK Is Built For

HY-TEK is swim meet and team management software sold by ACTIVE Network, and Meet Manager is the most widely used tool for running swim meets in the United States. It is two Windows desktop programs that pass data between each other through standard entry and result files.

Meet Manager is for the host. It takes entries, seeds heats, produces heat sheets and lane assignments, interfaces with timing consoles and scoreboards, scores the meet and publishes results, including to the Meet Mobile app that parents follow from the stands.

Team Manager is for the club. It keeps the roster and every swimmer's times, exports entries to the meet host, imports results afterwards and tracks best times, so the club's competition history lives in one database.

Feature Comparison

The table compares HY-TEK's two programs with Swim Suite area by area, from meet day to the training week. "Not a focus" means the product is not built around that job, not that a workaround is impossible.

What Swim Suite Is Built For

Swim Suite is coaching software for competitive clubs, built around the weeks between meets rather than the meets themselves. It is three connected apps in one club account, used by coaches, swimmers and parents.

Swim Suite holds the season plan from macro cycles down to the single set, with AI-assisted set design, training groups and roles, attendance and weekly load compared against the plan, and competitions placed in the season with target and qualifying times. Swim Forge is the swimmer's app, and Swim Analyzer measures starts, breakouts, stroke rate and stroke length from phone video.

Pricing Compared

HY-TEK is sold as a licence rather than a subscription. Meet Manager comes in packages, with paid version upgrades and add-ons such as networking, real-time web results and timing-console interfaces, and Team Manager has its own club licence. ACTIVE Network publishes the current package prices on its support site.

Swim Suite is a monthly plan by coaches and swimmers: €40 for one coach and ten swimmers, €80 for up to three coaches and 30 swimmers, and €140 for up to 20 coaches and 200 swimmers. Every plan has a 14-day free trial with no card. Because the two products do different jobs, most clubs compare Swim Suite's price with the spreadsheets and coach hours it replaces, not with HY-TEK. See the pricing page.

Using HY-TEK and Swim Suite Together

Using both is the normal setup for a competitive club that already runs on HY-TEK. Meet Manager and Team Manager keep doing what the club, the meet host and the governing body depend on: entries, meets and official results.

Swim Suite takes over the work that HY-TEK was never built for. A typical season looks like this:

WhenHY-TEKSwim Suite
AugustRoster rolled over for the new seasonSeason plan built backwards from the championship meet
Each weekNothing to doSessions planned, attendance taken, load reviewed
Before a meetEntries exported to the hostTaper planned, swimmer targets set in Swim Forge
Meet weekendMeet run, results publishedRace video captured for Swim Analyzer
After a meetResults imported, best times updatedTraining plan adjusted from what the race showed
Pool video in Swim Analyzer with tracking boxes around two swimmers and 5 m and 15 m distance markers on the lanes
Phone video tracked in Swim Analyzer: the race footage a club captures alongside the official results HY-TEK publishes.

Which Should Your Club Choose?

If your club hosts meets or enters them, you need meet software, and in the United States that usually means HY-TEK. That decision is mostly made for you by the meets you swim in.

Whether you also need Swim Suite depends on how your coaches plan and track training today. If season plans live in one spreadsheet per coach, attendance is on paper and swimmers ask the coach for every set, the coaching layer is the gap. Our guide to the five types of swim software explains where each kind of system fits, and the swim club management software guide lists the questions to ask in a demo.

FAQ

These are the questions clubs ask most often when they compare HY-TEK with Swim Suite for the first time, each answered briefly and in plain language below.

Is Swim Suite a HY-TEK alternative?

No. Swim Suite does not run meets, seed heats, take entries or publish official results, so it does not replace Meet Manager or Team Manager. It adds the training side that HY-TEK does not cover.

Can HY-TEK Team Manager plan training?

HY-TEK Team Manager is built for the roster, times, entries and results rather than periodised training plans. Clubs that want season planning, weekly load and a swimmer app connected to the plan use a coaching system alongside it.

Does Swim Suite work on a Mac?

Yes. Swim Suite runs in the web browser on any computer, and Swim Forge and Swim Analyzer run on iOS and Android. HY-TEK's desktop programs are Windows software.
